The Chairman of the all of us Senate’ s Homeland protection & Governmental Affairs panel (HSGAC) which investigated electronic currencies in November offers responded positively to the development of a new state bankers’ task force to perform its own study into what sort of rules is necessary.
The new “ Emerging Payments job Force” comes from the meeting of State Bank administrators (CSBS), a national conference group of regulators from almost all states “ dedicated to improving the state banking system” in the US at a federal level. this aims to study the effects and potential consumer safety issues arising from new transaction method technologies, including bitcoin, among several others.
HSGAC Chairman Senator Tom Carper (D-Del) released a press statement previously approving the move, stating he wanted to ensure government authorities “ are adequately protecting consumers and addressing lawbreakers without having hindering innovation”.
