The goal is to raise awareness of Bitcoin, and because tipping people is nice. Well, yesterday, Reddit user steeevemadden posted his idea to take Tipping Tuesday to the next level. As he explained “If we can collectively agree on certain charities and go hog wild with the tipping, we might spread awareness of bitcoin and changetip while simultaneously lending a helping hand where it's needed most.” The community quickly responded to the call to arms, rallying support. Donations poured in for Sean’s Outpost, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Amnesty International, and the UK based Royal National Lifeboat Institution, which at the end of day tweeted out they had received over 28 bitcoins in donations.
