About the Book:
The technology likely to have the greatest impact on the future of the world economy has arrived, and it’s not self-driving cars, solar energy, or artificial intelligence. It’s called the blockchain.
The first generation of the digital revolution brought us the Internet of information. The second generation powered by blockchain technology is bringing us the Internet of value: a new, distributed platform that can help us reshape the world of business and transform the old order of human affairs for the better.
Blockchain is the ingeniously simple, revolutionary protocol that allows transactions to be simultaneously anonymous and secure by maintaining a tamperproof public ledger of value. Though it’s the technology that drives bitcoin and other digital currencies, the underlying framework has the potential to go far beyond these and record virtually everything of value to humankind, from birth and death certificates to insurance claims and even votes.
Why should you care? Maybe you’re a music lover who wants artists to make a living off their art.
And those examples are barely the tip of the iceberg. This technology is public, encrypted, and readily available for anyone to use. It’s already seeing widespread adoption in a number of areas. For example, forty-two (and counting) of the world’s biggest financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Credit Suisse, have formed a consortium to investigate the blockchain for speedier and more secure transactions.
As with major paradigm shifts that preceded it, the blockchain will create winners and losers. And while opportunities abound, the risks of disruption and dislocation must not be ignored.

see minute 49 – He is emotionally tying our focus on things we care for – privacy, security, justice, prosperity – eliciting our feelings of hope and this: „yes, that is the way to go“-feeling.
Keeping us unaware of why the hopes he entices us with – are precisely not going to fulfill – right because with already ongoing block chaining property rights – no further questions asked – the huge advantages just outweigh completely for those who concentrate +90% of our planet in their few hands.
He says himself: the question is: who is going to issue… – Is it going to be John, Jim, Jane or Mary? Or even Liu, Usnavy, Ibrahim… Have a guess.. Now, you have the opportunity to – if not know, just feel the answer:
For some, it would make things a lot easier – the contemporary version of having people believe in eternal god created monarchy or the caste system – what fascinates and deeply tempts to try – is systemically
"BLOCK all fights for true justice and CHAIN the people with that +90% property".
Best wishes, Daniel

Educational video on the nature and benefits of block chain. (Even if Mr. Tapscott's understanding of why Manuel Zelaya was exiled from Honduras to Costa Rico makes him sound really ignorant.)
Also, Russia's largest bank has adopted blockchain and Iranian shoe-makers are already using bitcoin to avoid U.S. sanctions.
what if blockchain timestamps can be tampered with?
Explain how the direct democracy is a bad idea.

Alex, I am very impressed. I didn't think anyone was smarter than your dad. Good genes I suppose but I will give you credit as there is no substitute for hard work and execution.
Uber is a stock play, yet another IPO that gives 0% back to the economic structure except to the share holders, more often the owners of the company or insiders that know….
At least I can comment….. Banks out, block chain in, only problem is where to get cash or even better gold for street use….?
Trusted because cannot be hacked! But what if you get your hack software into the synchronization between the nodes. I am sure this can disrupt the blockchain.
Fascinating! Finally feel like I have a better understanding of the potential of Bitcoin and Blockchain tech. I loved the part about why Taxi cab drivers hate getting paid with credit crds. I own a waste container company and feel exactly the same way. It's as if I am an unwilling franchisee of Visa and MasterCard. Thanks Alex!
Just woke me up …!
